First 5 Contra Costa has selected Sandra Dalida to assume the role of Finance and Operations Director. Ms. Dalida most recently served as the Deputy Director, Juvenile Probation Department for the City and County of San Francisco. She will begin in her role on January 19, 2021.
City of Salinas has selected Steve Carrigan to assume the role of City Manager. Mr. Carrigan comes to the City having most recently served the City of Merced as their City Manager. Mr. Carrigan brings over 10 years of experience in City Administration. He will begin in his role on January 11, 2021.
South Coast Air Quality Management District has selected Anissa Heard-Johnson to assume the role of Deputy Executive Officer/ Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Officer. Ms. Heard-Johnson comes to the District previously serving as the Director, Student Life, Equity & Activities Center for Irvine Valley College. Ms. Heard-Johnson was described by references as being legendary in the world of diversity, equity, and inclusion. She will begin in her role on January 11.
City of Tucson has selected Lara Hamwey to assume the role of Director of Parks & Recreation. Ms. Hamwey comes to the City previously serving as Director, Parks and Recreation Department for City of Miami. Ms. Hamwey is a highly experienced and qualified candidate with over 16 years in the field, with prior experience in other capacities as well. She will begin in her role on January 10.
Contra Costa County has selected Nathan Wiebe to assume the role of Chief Information Security Officer. Mr. Wiebe comes to the County previously serving as the Information Security Officer for the City of Austin, TX. He will begin in his role on December 17, 2020.
City of Clayton, CA has selected Reina Schwartz to assume the role of City Manager. Ms. Schwartz comes to the City previously serving as the Assistant City Manager for the City of San Pablo. Ms. Schwartz is an accomplished local government professional with more than three decades of public sector experience. She will begin in her role on December 14, 2020.
City of Aurora has selected Kadee Rodriguez to assume the role of City Clerk. Ms. Rodriguez comes to the City previously serving as the Deputy City Clerk for City of Carlsbad. She will begin in her role on December 14.
LA Metro has selected Paul Solis to assume the role of Chief Ethics Officer. Mr. Solis comes to the Authority previously serving as the Deputy Chief Counsel for the Office of Congressional Ethics. He will begin in his role on December 7, 2020.
City of Redlands, CA has selected John Harris to assume the role of Municipal & Utilities Engineering Director. Mr. Harris comes to the City previously serving as the Director of Public Services for the City of Big Bear Lake. He will start in his role on December 7, 2020.
San Joaquin Council of Governments has selected Diane Nguyen to assume the role of Executive Director. Ms. Nguyen has been the Deputy Director at SJCOG since 2012. She will assume her new role immediately.
International City/County Management Association (ICMA) has selected Brian Bullock to assume the role of Director of Worldwide Learning & Professional Development. Mr. Bullock comes to the Association previously serving as the Instructional Design Manager for UNLV. He will begin in his role on November 30.
Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) has selected Kathleen Kane to be their General Counsel. Ms. Kane, who currently serves as City Attorney for Burlingame and previously served as City Attorney for East Palo Alto, will take over from Adrienne Weil, who is retiring after a decade of service. The Association of Bay Area Governments (ABAG) has for some time contracted with MTC to provide its staffing services. Ms. Kane will additionally act as legal counsel for ABAG under the contract. She will start in her new role on November 30, 2020.
